Photos

The photos section is an ongoing project for me. Unfortunately many of the photos are somewhat dated, but so be it. When I get more new photos posted, I will write a really inspired piece here about my love for the lens and how capturing a moment is priceless.

kyle.jpgI think about when I was really just discovering myself as a photographer, and I would take, on average, 2 rolls a week from which to fill the school newspaper. Photos started to pile up quickly. A past time of my roommates would be to come in and pick up a stack of photos to flip through. Their feedback was instant and precise, and their words encouraged me tremendously. I was given a digital in August of 2001, furthering my interest in photography. What you see here could be from 2000-present. I’ll admit a lot of it is 5+ years old now, but still worth sharing. Otherwise these photos sit in a box and never see the light of day. I’ve intentionally made the file names descriptive (ie sarah_harmer.jpg) In hopes of having them show up in Google image searches.
I’m inspired to pick and choose from all of the photos I have, and scan what I deem to be the best, based on the following:

A) My friend Chris has a photo-a-day blog, and I love it.

B) I have spent thousands of dollars on this hobby, and of all of the junk, I do have a few photos I don’t mind sharing. If I even get 1 positive remark about any of this, it will probably inspire me to go and take 100 more photos.

C) I have 372 friends with 2,554 photo galleries on facebook and I am so sick of the facebook photo viewing experience. It’s so homogeneous. Plus, it’s evil. There will be no tagging of photos on here! Back to the experience.. I’ve seen some awesome photos on facebook, don’t get me wrong. Bob and Brooke’s honeymoon to Greece, Kyle and Julie’s new baby, My brother’s latest hairdo, Friend’s vacations to exotic places. I’ve also seen, in the exact same template, proof photos of baby’s first potty training(note: friend deleted), puking photos, awful drunk bar photos and photos that prove you’ve never learned how to use your scanner. I would guess that 95% of photos on facebook were taken with a digital? People just dump their memory card into 60 photo albums and bore you to death with all their bad photos. You can view some of my boring contributions below:
