What am I thinking about 04 Jan 2010 12:16 am
2010
Wow, without anywhere near as much hype as the start of the last, we’ve entered a new decade. I can remember the 2000 new year and luckily, I got to spend the 2010 new year in a somewhat similar crowd. My best friend doug was there with me 1o years ago at my friend Kyle’s cottage, and he was there with me again on Thursday night in Miami. This time, it was his friends making up the crowd. It was much warmer than 10 years ago, in fact I intentionally wore shorts just to make it a little more memorable.
Christmas break was great. It started out with my brother’s wedding social on the first Saturday night. It went great, was profitable, and everyone seemed to have a great time (which is the most important part.) I got up early Sunday to travel to Thunder Bay for a flight home. Despite my flight being delayed an hour, I still made it home in time to play hockey with the sunday night crowd. It was great fun, some of the best fun I’ve had in a long time. Old friends are often the best types of friends.
I stayed home for a week and spent time with family and friends. I bought a wicked pair of winter boots which I have yet to test.
I spent the last week of my vacation in South Beach, just east of Miami. It was a fun filled week that I could write a ton about, and I will eventually. Just not now. It’s too late on a Sunday night. I know my writing has taken a back seat lately and I do intend on improving my rate of posting. I have so much to write about now! It’s a great feeling.
If I were to make a new decade resolution, it would be to sleep more. The only way I can accomplish this is to go to bed earlier. Better start now. It’s great to be back in my own bed!
