It’s christmas holidays and I’m going home tomorrow!  I’m packing up right now and asking the tough questions like.. Bring the winter coat/ don’t bring the winter coat.  Bring the laptop/ don’t bring the laptop.  I think it’s yes to both of those.

One week left before the winter break.  In less than a week, I’ll be sleeping on the couch in my parent’s living room.  In less than two weeks, I’ll be somewhere in Miami, wearing shorts.  Right now, the temperature here is -25 or so.  It’s been a cold couple of days but it seems more bearable this year.

I went ice fishing for the first time this year Saturday morning.  There was a good 4 inches of ice at my favourite spot, which was enough to hold me and my bucket of minnows.  It made for quick drilling of the holes, I could have moved around more than I did.  It was cold though and I forgot to bring my camera.  I only lasted an hour out there.  I’m hoping to go Thursday after work to get a bit of the night bite.  I’ve read that first ice sometimes has the best fishing.  We’ll see.  I do know that I probably won’t be doing this.

My basketball team has its first two league games this week.  We’ve already played in a tournament where we won 1, lost 3.  It was good to get everyone on the court though.  Tommorow we play at home, wednesday we play away.  Hope to make it out of the week at .500.

 This is the view of the back yard.  That’s my weather pumpkin.  When I can’t see the pumpkin any more I’ll know it’s snowed a lot.  When all I can see of the pumpkin is a mushy pile I’ll know it’s spring time.

The lake has frozen, there’s footprints of others on there.  No ice road yet though.  I had to rush to get this photo taken at 4:10 because that’s about what time it gets dark here now.
